NN Gallery is proud to present a solo exhibition by self taught artist Yeap Tho Seng entitled the Blue Planet, illustrating the richness of the underwater world. This exhibition presents a collection of watercolours evaluating a detailed picture of the wealth of life and the diversity of animal species found in our rivers, lakes and seas.
In his 34 years as the resident artist at the Penang Fisheries Research Institute, Yeap Tho Seng has carefully studied marine biology, from the habitat and behavioral patterns of aquatic species to compose an accurate depiction of the kaleidoscopic abundance in our waters. Illustrating the realist detailing of life from the playful raccoon butterfly and blue-faced angel fish, to the majestic glides of the leatherback turtles, Yap Tho Seng’s depictions encapsulates the wildly expressive and enchanted world of nature.
