NN Gallery in collaboration with
Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris proudly presents the first of a
series of graduate exhibitions entitled B.Ed Show I '99 from 20th
February until 4th
March '99.
Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris was established in 1922 (then
Maktab Sultan Idris) as the foremost art school in Malaysia.
Located on the borders of Selangor and Perak, in Tanjung Malim, it
was founded by R.O Windstedt, an educationist and author of Malay
culture and traditions.
Today the renowned
Kedah-born artist Zulkifli Yusoff heads the University's Art
Department. Zulkifli Yusoff has taken a one and a half-year
sabbatical from his own art to concentrate in nurturing new artistic
talents.
An internationally
acclaimed sculptor and painter Zulkifli Yusoff has in recent years
turned to the realms of art education, exploring new artistic
challenges. This has resulted in his debut curatorial exhibition.

This exhibition will
present works from final year graduate students. Comprising of
twenty-five students from all over Malaysia, trained in
multi-disciplines of art namely that of sculpture, painting,
drawing, computer-generated art, ceramic and mixed media work.
This exhibition will
showcase a new and exciting breed of artistic talents.
The exhibition will
be officiated by Y.B Tan Sri Dato Sen Awang Had Salleh at 5pm,
Saturday 20th February '99 at NN Gallery. 53A & 56
