In an unprecedented show of solidarity, with the co-operation of the
National Art Gallery, over 20 art galleries and art groups and over 100
artists in Malaysia have joined forces to raise funds for the victims of
the recent tsunami disaster. The result is ART FOR AID : TSUNAMI RELIEF.
It is an open sale of over 200 art works priced from just RM100 up to
RM5,000, and an auction of selected works by eminent artists on Saturday,
5 February 2005 at the National Art Gallery. Art works include paintings,
sculptures, drawings, ceramics, Chinese ink paintings and calligraphy,
limited edition prints, photographs and digital art by established as well
as young contemporary artists. Art books, magazines and other art-related
merchandise will also be available.

All art works have been donated by the artists, and 100% of the proceeds
from the sale and auction will be given to the Malaysian Red Crescent
Society to help fund their work for the victims of the tsunami disaster.
Auction: At 2pm, in the foyer, 1st Floor, National Art Gallery. Works to
be auctioned will be on view from 10am. Written bids may be submitted on
the day of the event before the auction.
