The musical concert will be performed at NN Gallery on Sunday 6th April 2003 at 11am. Entry is by a minimum donation of RM50 per person. Tax exempt receipts will be issued by CARIF. A light lunch will be served after the concert.
Cancer Research in Malaysia, By Malaysians, For Malaysia.
CARIF(The Cancer Research Initiatives Foundation) was officially launced by YAB Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad and YABhg. Datin Seri Datin Siti Hasmah binti Ali on 23rd October 2002.
The mission of CARIF is simple - to establish a world class research centre that has its focus firmly on cancers common in Malaysia and to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic tools to combat these cancers.

CARIF comprises a team of 12 dedicated research scientists (5 PhD, 5 MSc, 1 Bsc and I MLT) led by Dr Teo Soo - Hwang. Dr. Teo, a Yayasan Sime Darby Scholar, graduated with a double First Class Honours degree and as the top student from the University of Cambridge in 1992.
Together with a network of collabaration with local and international academic, research and clinical institutions, using the latest technologies and instrumentation, CARIF conducts research in three broad areas : the identification of molecular 'signatures' of cancer cells, characterisation of genetic risk factors in inherited predisposition to cancers, and development of cancer novel therapies from local flora.
