The Exhibition will feature paintings and artworks by prominent local artists. It is coordinated by Malaysia's National Artist, Datuk Syed Ahmad Jamal. The Artist Laureate is a member of JUST's Executive Committee.
The Exhibition will examine various dimensions of the human condition. The grave threats facing humankind -- from poverty and hunger to environmental degradation and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction -- will be among the concerns that the artists hope to capture on canvas. There will also be paintings which depict perseverance and fortitude in the midst of adversity and the human being's eternal struggle for peace, justice and dignity. Expressions of love and compassion in human relationships and the perennial dream of unity within the human family are some of the other subjects which the artists are expected to explore.
OBJECTIVE
The Exhibition is part of JUST's continuous efforts to develop public consciousness about global injustices and the importance of the quest for a just world. At the same time, the Exhibition aims to raise funds for JUST.
