NN Gallery is proud to present a solo exhibition by Eston Tan’s from 7th -28th June 2008. The exhibition will showcase new works of oils and charcoal on canvas.
Born in Penang and a graduate in Fine Arts from the Malaysian Institute of Art, Eston Tan is a bright young talent .With successful solo exhibition in Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Taiwan and most recently in Hong Kong , Eston Tan continues to capture the hearts of his audiences with gentle and romantic landscapes.
Painting scenes close to his heart, such as fishing villages and idyllic landscapes, Eston Tan conjures up dreamy and atmospheric impressions of places that have remained untouched over the years.
Using a combination of charcoal and oil, his treatment of the medium shows a likeness for watercolour, with washes and drips that evoke luminousity, and coupled with skillful drawings of his subjects lend a whimsical perspective to his works.
