Katrin Förster
Born in Bremen in 1970 shortly before moving to Penang, Malaysia for the first 7 years of her life, Katrin has enjoyed a childhood and continuing career living in different corners of the world - from Kuwait to Argentina, the USA and Europe. Her emotion and spirit have been touched by the diversities of culture, people and nature during this time.
Her inspirations from around the world led naturally to professional study. Having graduated first in Communication Design at the Fachhochschule fuer Gestaltung Armgartstrasse (Hamburg, 1997) and honed impression skills at the Paulwitz-Mathaei School (Hamburg) for Act, Figure, Portrait and Still-Life, her pieces have found a strong audience in Germany and U.K.
Even in commercial application of her talents over 11 years, in Senior Designer (Gruner + Jahr) and Art Director (IPC Media) roles of international communications media in the UK and Germany, the continuing demand for her art pieces has persuaded her to exhibit professionally.
Katrin's perspective is premised upon the contrast of colours and forms of nature, through her experiences of fauna and flora from around the world.

Her interpretation of colour, its foundation and emotional impact, is experimented in various forms through her work. Her acrylic-on-canvas paintings define the elements of these experiments, through contemporary impressionism and photo-realism. Katrin has returned to Malaysia, where her passion for nature moved her to realize extraordinary talents during childhood. Her pieces are now being viewed around the world on www.katrinforster.com
