Karl’s thoughts :
My creations are constant self explorations of my basic training in textile and print making - a continuous exploration of various ways in expressing a fusion of the conventional batik design with a modern and contemporary twist.
I explore different colours, forms and shapes. My creations are mostly inspired by Nature, which explains the subtle earth tones which dominate my design.
Producing these Batik creations is highly time consuming as it requires layers of application, technique and detailed handiwork – from the formation of ideas & design to its final colourful execution…just like a painting.
