Ahmad Nazri Abdullah

EDUCATION :
1953-1956 Swinburne Technical College - Diploma Fine Art.
1957-1958 University of Melbourne - Bachelor of Art.
Professional Experience :
From 4th August 1978 to the present : Pelukis DiRaja Selangor, appointed by Al-Marhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah AlHaj. Currently appointed to D.Y.M.M. Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah AlHaj.
To date, Ahmad Nazri has produced more than 50 portraits for both Sultans. During this period, he has also worked on various design projects in the private sector and
Portrait commissions or for the Federal Government of Malaysia, the State Government of Sarawak and for many private individuals in Malaysia and
overseas.
Exhibitions
From 1974 until 1999, Ahmad Nazri has participated in various Group exhibitions in Australia and Malaysia.
Held three (3) solo Exhibitions in Malaysia
1983, 1988 and 1999; and in Australia 1981, 1989 and 1993.
1959 - 1962 Graphic Designer/Visualiser and Fashion llustrator consecutively for three Advertising Agencies in Melbourne.
1962 - 1966 Art Director/Creative Director for Marklin Advertising, HongKong.
1966 - 1974 Regional Creative Director/Marklin Advertising - responsible for creative output for S.E.A. offices re: Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jakarta and Bangkok.
1970 Two State Portraits: Almarhum Sultan Sir Ismail & Sultanah Johor
1971 Corporate and Graphic Design project for Kuala Lumpur Hilton.
1974-1977 Senior Lecturer ITM Shah Alam Bhg. Graphic Design/Advertising (Final year students). Chairman of the Lecturer Students Liason Committee. Member of the Lecturers Debating Team.
1976-1977 Acting Course Tutor (Head of Graphic Design Department) School of Art and Design, ITM Shah Alam.(Graphic Design/Advertising).
1977 (July/August) Acting Creative Director, Fortune Advertising H.K. – Gulf Air campaign and presentation.
1978 Portrait Commission for Dewan Undangan Negeri Selangor,four Sultans - from Sultan Abdul Samad to
Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz, Shah AlHaj.
1979-1983 Portrait Commission for Federal Parliament;
24 portraits of D.Y.M.M. Y.D.P. Agong, Prime Ministers, Speakers of Parliament and Presidents of the Senate.

2002-2003 Portrait commission for DYMM Sultan Selangor. Seven new portraits, plus restoration and alterations to several existing portraits for the Balai Santapan Diraja, Istana Alam Shah.
Four new portraits for Istana Mestika.

Dewan Undangan Negeri Selangor.
