Teh Siew Joo
Teh Siew Joo was born in Penang in 1930, he graduated from the Beijing Central School of Fine Art in 1954.
Between 1955 and 1961, he worked as a cartoon animator at the Shanghai Art and Film Production Studio. He was involved in the production of many cartoon films such as `A tadpole looking for its mother' which won the People's Republic of China, the Silver Yacht Award in the Cannes Film Festival, France.
Teh Siew Joo returned to Malaysia in 1967 and worked in Ipoh as a professional interior designer and artist. Since 1986, he is a member of the Singapore Watercolour Society.

His first one-man show was held in Chinese Brush Painting at Ipoh, Malaysia. His second one-man show in watercolour was at the Hyatt Hotel, Singapore, 1988 and his solo exhibition at The Art Gallery, Penang was held in August 1992.
Participated in various joint exhibitions including International Teochew Artist Art Exhibition at Raffles City, Singapore (1987), Japan Asian Watercolour Art Exhibition, Osaka, Japan (1988), Malaysian Confederation Asian Watercolour Exhibition, Kuala Lumpur (1988).
His paintings have been collected by Bank Negara Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur and Hotel Regent of Kuala Lumpur, which also used two of his paintings for reproduction into prints.
